Jones totaled seven points (3-4 FG, 1-1 FT), one rebound, nine assists and one steal across 16 minutes during Wednesday's 117-114 loss to the Knicks. Victor Wembanyama stole the show on Christmas Day for the Spurs, dropping 42 points on the Knicks. However, Jones also quietly had a solid performance, dishing out a season-high nine assists against New York, which is a promising sign for the guard, who recently missed six games with a shoulder injury.

Tre Jones : Drops season-high nine assists
Jones totaled seven points (3-4 FG, 1-1 FT), one rebound, nine assists and one steal across 16 minutes during Wednesday's 117-114 loss to the Knicks. Victor Wembanyama stole the show on Christmas Day for the Spurs, dropping 42 points on the Knicks. However, Jones also quietly had a solid performance, dishing out a season-high nine assists against New York, which is a promising sign for the guard, who recently missed six games with a shoulder injury.
Keldon Johnson : Rough performance against Knicks
Johnson ended Wednesday's 117-114 loss to New York with two points (1-2 FG), three rebounds and one assist over 18 minutes. This is back-to-back rough performances for Johnson, as he could not get it going in the scoring department on Christmas Day against the Knicks. Johnson scored only two points against New York in 18 minutes, which marks the worst scoring output of the season for the 25-year-old and could cause concern moving forward.
Devin Vassell : Quiet in loss Wednesday
Vassell had 11 points (4-11 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), three rebounds, five assists and one block over 36 minutes during Wednesday's 117-114 loss to the Knicks. Vassell delivered a somewhat quiet performance, continuing a modest run over the past couple of weeks. In that time, he has averaged 14.5 points, 3.7 rebounds, 0.7 steals and 1.8 three-pointers in 30.6 minutes per game. Although his production has left a little to be desired, the fact he is now starting and playing upwards of 30 minutes per night shouldn't be overlooked. As he continues to get his legs under him, his production should come around, perhaps sooner rather than later.
Jeremy Sochan : Flirts with double-double in loss
Sochan produced 21 points (8-10 FG, 3-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT), nine rebounds and two assists over 33 minutes during Wednesday's 117-114 loss to the Knicks. Sochan continues to quietly put together a fantastic season, falling just one rebound short of another double-double. While his teammate, Victor Wembanyama, typically gets all the attention, Sochan's play is a big reason for the Spurs' success this season. Across 17 games, he is averaging 15.1 points, 8.4 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.0 steals in 29.3 minutes per game.
Victor Wembanyama : Stellar again despite loss
Wembanyama chipped in 42 points (16-31 FG, 6-16 3Pt, 4-4 FT), 18 rebounds, four assists, four blocks and one steal in 40 minutes during Wednesday's 117-114 loss to New York. Wembanyama was magnificent in the loss, continuing to produce at an elite level despite his relative inexperience. After what some considered a slow start to the season, Wembanyama has been a one-man wrecking crew of late, averaging a mind-blowing 28.7 points, 10.3 rebounds, 4.6 assists, 4.4 blocks and 3.9 three-pointers per game over the past month.
Stephon Castle : Pops in limited minutes
Castle produced 17 points (7-9 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 2-2 FT), three rebounds, one assist and one steal across 13 minutes during Monday's 111-106 loss to the 76ers. Despite a tiny workload, Castle made the most of his limited minutes. However, he picked up four quick fouls, ruining what could've been a much bigger performance. His counting stats have been solid in December, but he's shooting just 37.3 percent from the field and 22.2 percent from beyond the arc over his last nine games.
Julian Champagnie : Leads bench with 15 points
Champagnie recorded 15 points (5-10 FG, 5-10 3Pt), eight rebounds, one assist and one block over 29 minutes during Monday's 111-106 loss to the 76ers. Champagnie led San Antonio's bench in scoring Monday and connected on five three-pointers for the fourth time this season. He finished tied with Jeremy Sochan and Devin Vassell as the Spurs' second-leading scorer behind Victor Wembanyama (26). Champagnie started in the first 26 games of the regular season, but he's come off the bench in the Spurs' last three games as Vassell has been inserted into the starting lineup. Since and including Dec. 1, Champagnie has averaged 14.2 points and 5.2 rebounds over 29.3 minutes per game.
Harrison Barnes : Puts up donut in Monday’s loss
Barnes had zero points (0-5 FG, 0-5 3Pt) and one rebound in 20 minutes during Monday's 111-106 loss to Philadelphia. Barnes was unable to tally a single point for the 12th time in his 13-year NBA career as he failed to knock down each of his five field-goal attempts, all of which came from beyond the arc. He isn't expected to be the focal point of the Spurs' offense due to the presence of Victor Wembanyama Devin Vassell, but San Antonio could've done with a bigger scoring output from Barnes in Monday's narrow loss. Barnes will look to get on track against the Knicks on Christmas Day.
