Head coach Zac Taylor stated Monday that Hubbard (knee) will definitely be out against the Browns on Sunday, Kelsey Conway of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports. Hubbard is considered likely to miss the rest of the season, so this news isn't exactly surprising. However, it does confirm the seriousness of the injury to rule him out this early. It also lends more credence to the report by Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com.

Sam Hubbard Latest News
Already ruled out

Head coach Zac Taylor stated Monday that Hubbard (knee) will definitely be out against the Browns on Sunday, Kelsey Conway of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports. Hubbard is considered likely to miss the rest of the season, so this news isn't exactly surprising. However, it does confirm the seriousness of the injury to rule him out this early. It also lends more credence to the report by Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com.
Season is likely over

Hubbard's knee injury that he suffered in Sunday's game against the Titans will likely end his season, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports. Hubbard's campaign will end with 41 combined tackles, 2.0 sacks, a forced fumble, and an interception in 14 games. He also caught a two-yard touchdown pass before exiting against Tennessee. The Bengals will look to Myles Murphy and Joseph Ossai to pick up the extra workload beginning in Week 16 against the Browns.
Ruled out Sunday

Hubbard (knee) has been ruled out for the rest of Sunday's game against the Titans. The defensive lineman made one solo tackle before exiting, and he also caught his only target for two yards and a touchdown. Hubbard has 41 tackles (25 solo), including 2.0 sacks, two pass breakups, including an interception, and a forced fumble on the year. Myles Murphy and Joseph Ossai are Cincinnati's next available defensive ends.
Logs nine tackles vs. Ravens

Hubbard recorded nine total tackles (seven solo), including 1.0 sacks and an additional tackle for loss, in Sunday's 41-38 loss to the Ravens. The Ohio State product tied both Germaine Pratt and Logan Wilson for the most tackles on the Bengals' defense in Sunday's loss. Hubbard also made a big play while the Ravens were backed up in their own territory, taking down Derrick Henry for a two-yard loss and a safety that brought the Bengals to within five points in the second quarter. Expect Hubbard to continue being a bright spot on a struggling Bengals defense as the team travels to take on the Giants in Week 6.
Avoids injury report

Hubbard (knee) was not listed on the Bengals' injury report Wednesday. Hubbard sustained a knee injury in late July, which kept him out of practice for most of training camp. He went through individual work in late August, and he now appears healthy enough to return to team drills ahead of the Bengals' regular-season opener against the Patriots on Sunday. Across 15 regular-season games in 2023, Hubbard registered 58 tackles (38 solo), including 6.0 sacks and two fumble recoveries.
Nearing return

Head coach Zac Taylor told reporters Monday that Hubbard (knee) will go through individual work this week, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports. Hubbard has missed the last three weeks with a knee issue, but it appears that he's nearly past the injury, as he returns to individual drills this week. The 29-year-old defensive end has recorded 6.0 sacks in each of the last three seasons, and he could very well be on the field for the Bengals' regular-season opener Sep. 8 if his recovery continues going well.
Sidelined for now

Hubbard, who injured his knee during practice Sunday, is considered week-to-week according to head coach Zac Taylor, Kelsey Conway of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports. Hubbard was carted off the field when the injury occurred, but it appears the situation is less dire than it originally seemed. The Bengals will likely be cautious with the 29-year-old, who's played a prominent role in their defense by recording at least 6.0 sacks in each of the last three seasons.
Avoids serious injury

Hubbard, who injured his knee during Sunday's practice, received good test results and should be okay, Chris Roling of USA Today reports. Hubbard left Sunday's practice in a cart, but it appears that he avoided what could have been a serious injury. It's unclear when Hubbard is expected to return to the field, but once the 29-year-old is healthy again, he's expected to line up alongside Trey Hendrickson and continue rushing the passer at a high level for the Bengals' defense in 2024.
Dealing with knee injury

Hubbard (ankle/knee) suffered a knee injury at practice Sunday, Dan Graziano of ESPN.com reports. Hubbard was carted off with a knee injury Sunday, but his MRI came back with "good" results according to Graziano and the defensive lineman is expected to be alright. Cincinnati appears to have avoided a disaster and Hubbard will once again direct his attention to being ready to go for the team's first preseason game Aug. 10 versus the Buccaneers.
