Ward logged three tackles (one solo) and two pass defenses (including an interception) during Monday's 41-32 loss to the Broncos. Ward was involved in both of Bo Nix's interceptions Monday. Ward got his hand out in front of a pass intended for Troy Franklin, and the deflected ball found its way into Greg Newsome's hands. Ward then picked off Nix early in the fourth quarter on a deep pass inteded for Marvin Mims, which led to a five-yard touchdown pass from Jameis Winston to Nick Chubb nine plays later. Ward didn't log an interception over the Browns' first nine games of the regular season, but since the Week 10 bye he's tallied two interceptions (on four pass defenses) while accumulating 12 tackles (eight solo).

Denzel Ward Latest News
Plays part in two INTs vs. Broncos

Suiting up vs. Steelers

Ward (ribs, ankle) does not carry an injury designation ahead of Thursday's game versus Pittsburgh, Daniel Oyefusi of ESPN.com reports. Ward played through the rib and ankle injuries he suffered in Week 11 at New Orleans, and now it looks like he'll be good to go again for Week 12. He could be assigned to shadow alpha wideout George Pickens on Thursday.
Deemed day-to-day

Head coach Kevin Stefanski said Ward is considered day-to-day after suffering rib and ankle injuries in Sunday's 35-14 loss to the Saints, Kelsey Russo of the Browns' official site reports. Ward returned to the game after suffering the pair of injuries but apparently isn't back to 100 percent. With the Browns hosting the Steelers on Thursday in Week 12, Ward could end up being listed as a limited and/or non-participant on multiple practice reports leading up to game day.
Stands out in loss

Ward recorded four tackles, an interception, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery and two passes defensed in Sunday's 35-14 loss to the Saints in Week 11. Ward exited the game with a chest injury during the second quarter but returned to the field following halftime. He was the lone Cleveland defender to experience success against the Saints' Taysom Hill, who rushed for 138 yards and three touchdowns, while catching eight of 10 targets for 50 yards. He also threw two passes, one of which picked off by Ward in the first quarter. The cornerback later forced Hill to fumble and recovered the loose ball in the second quarter. The pick was the first of the season for Ward, whose two passes defensed increased his league-leading total among cornerbacks to 16, per Pro Football Focus.
Returns to Week 11 game

Ward (chest) has returned to Sunday's game against New Orleans, Dan Labbe of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports. Ward exited in the second quarter and subsequently went to the locker room to be evaluated for a chest injury. However, he's since been able to get back into the game. As such, Ward should continue to log a substantial amount of snaps at cornerback.
Exits with chest injury

Ward (chest) is questionable to return to Sunday's game against the Saints. Ward suffered the injury while recovering a Taysom Hill fumble in the second quarter, and the former left for the locker room after being evaluated by trainers on the sidelines. While Ward is sidelined, Cameron Mitchell will likely come in at the second corner spot opposite Martin Emerson.
Good to go vs. Bolts

Ward no longer has a questionable injury tag heading into Sunday's game against the Chargers after clearing concussion protocols. Ward suffered the sixth concussion of his NFL career during the Browns' Week 8 win over the Ravens. He opened the week with consecutive DNPs, but he managed to return to practice Friday in a limited capacity. Despite not logging a full practice this week, Ward has done enough to clear the league's five-step concussion protocols and will be available for Sunday's contest. Through the first eight games of the regular season, Ward has tallied 15 tackles (13 solo) and 13 pass breakups.
Questionable for Sunday

Ward (concussion) is listed as questionable ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Chargers, Chris Easterling of the Akron Beacon Journal reports. Ward upgraded to a limited session Friday after logging back-to-back DNPs to begin the Browns' week of practice, giving himself a chance to suit up Sunday. The Ohio State product must still clear the NFL's five-step concussion protocol in order to play in Week 9. If he's unable to do so, Cameron Mitchell will likely see increased work with the Browns' first-team secondary.
Doesn't practice Wednesday

Ward (concussion) was listed as a DNP on the Browns' injury report Wednesday, Daniel Oyefusi of ESPN.com reports. Ward was diagnosed with a concussion following the Browns' Week 8 win over the Ravens. It was the second time he's been diagnosed with a concussion this season and the sixth time in his NFL career, though Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reported Wednesday that Ward is considered day-to-day. Even if Ward were to return to practice this week, it's no guarantee that he'll be able to pass the league's five-step concussion protocols ahead of Sunday's game against the Chargers.
