Barton finished this past Thursday's 34-27 loss to the Chargers with seven tackles (five solo). Barton was the Broncos' second-leading tackler for Week 16 behind Brandon Jones (10). Barton didn't see much playing time in the first three games of the regular season, but he has played at least 60 defensive snaps in nine of 12 games since, which coincides with Alex Singleton's season-ending ACL tear. Barton is up to 97 combined tackles through 15 regular-season games, and he is on the brink of cracking the century mark for the third-straight year. He'll look to do just that in the Broncos' Week 17 clash against the Bengals on Saturday, Dec. 28.

Cody Barton Latest News
Seven tackles against Chargers

Tallies eight tackles in win

Barton recorded eight tackles (four solo) in the Broncos' win over the Colts on Sunday. Barton has played 100 percent of the defensive snaps in 10 of the last 11 games and is now up to 90 tackles (44 solo), including 1.5 sacks, four pass breakups, including two interceptions, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery, which he returned for a touchdown back in Week 7 versus New Orleans.
Picks off pass Week 13

Barton tallied eight tackles (five solo) and an interception in Monday's 41-32 win against Cleveland. Barton tied for the team lead in stops and recorded one of Denver's three pickoffs. That interception came on the final play of the game, as Barton grabbed a pass intended for tight end David Njoku and returned it 56 yards. The pickoff was Barton's second of the campaign, tying the regular-season high mark he first established in 2022 with Seattle.
Tallies six stops

Barton recorded six tackles (five solo), including 0.5 sacks, and a pass defensed in Sunday's 29-19 win over the Raiders. The inside linebacker also played on every defensive snap for the seventh time this season. With 74 tackles (35 solo) through 12 games, Barton has a chance at his third consecutive 100-plus tackle season. In 2024, he also has three pass breakups, an interception, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery.
Picks off pass in win

Barton recorded four tackles (three solo) and an interception in Sunday's 38-6 win over the Falcons. The inside linebacker also played on all 51 defensive snaps. Barton is up to 68 tackles (30 solo), including 1.0 sacks, two pass breakups, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery on the year.
Nines stops in Week 10

Barton recorded nine total tackles (two solo) in Sunday's 16-14 loss to the Chiefs. Barton played 100.0 percent of Denver's defensive snaps for the sixth time in the last seven games, tying Braxton Jones for the team's leading tackler in Sunday's defeat. Barton has now recorded 64 total tackles, including 1.0 sacks, and defended one pass through the Broncos' first 10 games this season. He's expected to continue making plays as the Broncos face the Falcons in Week 11.
Solid outing in Week 9

Barton recorded seven total tackles (one solo) in Sunday's 41-10 loss to the Ravens. The 27-year-old was the Broncos' second-leading tackler in Sunday's blowout loss, trailing just Devon Key's eight-stop performance. Barton has now accumulated 55 total tackles through Denver's first nine games this season, ranking second on the Broncos' defense in stops. Expect the Utah product to continue being one of the team's top tacklers ahead of Week 10's matchup against the Chiefs.
Scoop-and-score vs. NOLA

Barton logged eight tackles (six solo) and returned a fumble recovery 52 yards for a touchdown during Thursday's 33-10 win over the Saints. Barton logged his first sack of the season midway through the first quarter Thursday when he got to Spencer Rattler for a loss of seven yards. Barton had a 14-yard fumble recovery for a touchdown in the second quarter nullified due to a defensive offside penalty, but he was able to return a fumble for a 52-yard score in the fourth quarter to extend the Broncos' lead to 33-3 at the time. Barton has started at inside linebacker over the last four regular-season games after Alex Singleton underwent season-ending surgery to repair a torn ACL. Over that four-game span, Barton has played every single defensive snap and has accumulated 33 tackles (18 solo), including 1.0 sacks, one pass breakup, one forced fumble and Thursday's fumble recovery for a touchdown.
Eight tackles versus Los Angeles

Barton recorded eight tackles (one solo) in the Broncos' loss to the Chargers on Sunday. Making his third consecutive start with Alex Singleton (knee, IR) done for the year, Barton played 100 percent of the defensive snaps for the third straight contest. In his three weeks as a starter, Barton has recorded 25 tackles (12 solo) but has done little else in the box score.
