The Texans placed Quitoriano (knee) on injured reserve Thursday. Quitoriano may have picked up the injury during the Texans' Week 12 loss to the Titans this past Sunday. By being placed on injured reserve, Quitoriano will be forced to miss at least the next four regular-season games, making Week 18 against Tennessee on Sunday, Jan. 5 the earliest he could be activated off IR. Dalton Schultz and Cade Stover are the two healthy tight ends on the 53-man roster, so the Texans could elevate Irv Smith from the practice squad for Sunday's game against the Jaguars.

Placed on IR due to knee injury

Limited on Wednesday

Quitoriano (knee) was limited in Wednesday's practice. Quitoriano dealt with a calf issue earlier this season, but the knee injury is a new one. He's played 22 percent of the offensive snaps across seven games since rejoining the Texans on Oct. 8. Quitoriano has yet to draw a target in the pass game and is mostly used as a blocker.
Goes without target in Week 11

Quitoriano played 19 of the Texans' 64 snaps on offense and went without a target in Monday's 34-10 win over the Cowboys. Since being signed off the Bears' practice squad in October, Quitoriano has been active for each of the Texans' ensuing six games. However, despite logging at least nine snaps on offense in all six of those contests, he's yet to draw a target. He'll continue to operate mainly as a blocker when he takes the field.
Untargeted in win

Quitoriano was not targeted over nine snaps in Sunday's 41-21 win over New England in Week 6. Quitoriano, a 2022 draft pick by Houston, rejoined the Texans, who signed him off the Bears' practice squad last week. He's not expected to see much activity in terms of targets, but the organization likes Quitoriano's blocking technique and considers him an extra tackle.
Back with Houston

The Texans signed Quitoriano off the Bears' practice squad Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports. Quitoriano was a fifth-round pick by the Texans in 2022 and spent the previous two seasons with the team before being waived/injured and eventually cut just ahead of Week 1 last month. He spent roughly two weeks in Chicago and is now headed back to Houston, where he caught nine passes for 146 yards and two touchdowns on 14 targets across 16 regular-season games with the Texans. Quitoriano will slide in behind Dalton Schultz and Cade Stover on the depth chart after Brevin Jordan (knee, IR) suffered a season-ending torn ACL in Week 2.
Joins Chicago's practice squad

The Bears signed Quitoriano to the practice squad Tuesday, Kevin Fishbain of The Athletic reports. Quitoriano suited up for 16 combined games with Houston over the last two seasons. Now that he's healthy again after battling a calf injury during the preseason, Quitoriano will link up with Chicago and provide organizational depth at tight end.
Over injury

Quitoriano (calf) worked out for the Cardinals on Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports. Quitoriano was waived by the Texans with an injury settlement Sept. 4, giving him the chance to find a new opportunity, as opposed to spending the season on IR. His ability to complete a tryout would suggest the Oregon State product is healthy and ready to contribute to a team in need of tight-end depth.
Gets cut loose

Quitoriano (calf) was waived with an injury settlement Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports. Quitoriano was set to spend the entirety of the 2024 campaign on IR, but this settlement will allow him to play this season, once he can prove himself healthy and he finds a franchise to sign with.
Reverts to IR

Quitoriano (calf) reverted to injured reserve Wednesday but is expected to reach a short-term injury settlement, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports. The tight end might rejoin the Texans, per Wilson. Quitoriano finished 2023 on injured reserve with groin and oblique injuries after playing in seven games. The third-year pro entered training camp healthy but strained his calf in the Hall of Fame Game against the Bears.
