Hurts (concussion/left finger) officially didn't practice Thursday. Hurts has yet to mix into drills since suffering a concussion this past Sunday at Washington. Meanwhile, Kenny Pickett, who emerged from that game with a rib injury, practiced in full Thursday and even told Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer that he'll be ready to go if Hurts isn't available for Sunday's game against the Cowboys. The Eagles may clarify the status of Hurts for Week 17 on Friday's injury report, which would set the stage for Pickett's first start with the team.

Jalen Hurts Latest News
Remains sidelined from practice

Not seen at practice

Hurts (concussion) wasn't spotted during the media-access portion of Thursday's practice, Eliot Shorr-Parks of Sports Radio 94 WIP Philadelphia report. After leaving early in Philadelphia's Week 16 loss at Washington with a concussion, Hurts was listed as a non-participant on Wednesday's practice estimate. On Thursday, head coach Nick Sirianni confirmed that the quarterback remained in the concussion protocol, according to Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer. While Hurts looks set to be listed as a non-participant for the second straight day, fellow quarterback Kenny Pickett mixed into drills Thursday, albeit with some extra padding around his midsection to protect his rib issue, according to Martin Frank of The Delaware News Journal. Aside from Hurts and Pickett, Philadelphia employs signal-callers Tanner McKee on the active roster and Ian Book on the practice squad.
Listed as non-participant Wednesday

Hurts (concussion/left finger) was listed as a non-participant on Wednesday's estimated injury report. Hurts was forced out of this past Sunday's loss at Washington in the first quarter after he was sandwiched between two Commanders defenders. He seemed to be a bit woozy and eventually was ruled out due to a concussion, and he's still managing a broken finger on his left hand, after he had been listed with the issue on injury reports for Week 15 and 16. Backup quarterback Kenny Pickett (ribs) was listed as limited Wednesday, so Tanner McKee currently is the healthiest signal-caller on the active roster. Hurts will need to get back on the practice field in some capacity before week's end to give himself a chance to play Sunday versus the Cowboys.
In concussion protocol

In addition to Hurts being in the NFL's concussion protocol, backup Kenny Pickett is dealing with a rib injury, Zach Berman of The Athletic reports. Hurts sustained his concussion during Sunday's game against the Commanders, and with Pickett banged up as well, the status of both signal callers is worth monitoring closely ahead of this weekend's game against the Cowboys. For now, the Eagles' healthiest option at the QB position is Tanner McKee.
Won't return Sunday

Hurts (concussion) won't return to Sunday's game against the Commanders. Prior to being forced out of the contest, Hurts completed one of four pass attempts for 11 yards and ran three times for 41 yards. In his absence, Kenny Pickett has taken over at quarterback for the Eagles.
Getting concussion check

Hurts is being evaluated for a concussion during Sunday's game at Washington. At the end of a 13-yard run in the first quarter, Hurts was sandwiched by a pair of Commanders defenders and seemed to be a bit dazed when he got to his feet. He was removed from the game, visited the sideline tent and appeared poised to return to the field before going to the locker room. If Hurts is diagnosed with a concussion, he'll yield QB duties to Kenny Pickett for the rest of Week 16.
Picks apart Steelers

Hurts completed 25 of 32 passes for 290 yards, two touchdowns and zero interceptions in Sunday's 27-13 win over the Steelers. He added 15 rushes for 45 yards and an additional score. The effectiveness of the Eagles' passing attack was in question throughout the week, as Hurts had failed to top 200 passing yards in three straight games. He silenced those questions in an excellent Week 15 showing by averaging 9.1 yards per attempt while completing six passes of at least 20 yards. Hurts also threw for multiple touchdowns for only the sixth time this season, while supplementing it with his 14th rushing score of the campaign. All of that production came despite playing through a broken finger, an injury that Hurts confirmed after the game, per Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer.
Produces three TDs in win

Hurts completed 14 of 21 passes for 108 yards and two touchdowns while adding 59 rushing yards and a TD on eight carries in Sunday's 22-16 win over the Panthers. For the third straight game and the sixth time this season, Hurts failed to throw for 200 yards, with Sunday's total being his lowest of the year. He made up for it by producing three TDs, including a four-yard strike to Grant Calcaterra early in the fourth quarter for what proved to be the winning score. Hurts has 13 rushing touchdowns on the season, leaving him two short of tying the NFL quarterback record of 15 he shares with Josh Allen, a mark they both reached in 2023. Hurts faces a stingy secondary in Week 15 against the Steelers.
Posts passing and rushing TD in win

Hurts completed 11 of 19 passes for 118 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 24-19 win over the Ravens. He added nine rushing attempts for 29 yards and a touchdown. Hurts threw a 17-yard touchdown pass to Dallas Goedert (knee) in the second quarter, then added a one-yard rushing touchdown later in the first half to put the Eagles up 14-9. The rushing score came on a tush push, as Hurts fumbled the snap but picked it up and lunged over the goal line for his 12th rushing touchdown in as many games. Hurts surprisingly didn't find much traction through the air against Baltimore's struggling secondary, but the Eagles rode running back Saquon Barkley and the defense to an eighth consecutive win. Hurts' ability to produce with both his arm and legs will make him a strong fantasy option as usual in Week 14 against the Panthers, especially if the Eagles get wide receiver DeVonta Smith (hamstring) back from a two-game absence.
