Lazard caught two of five targets for 20 yards in Sunday's 19-9 loss to the Rams. Lazard's ongoing issues with drops resurfaced in this game, as he added a couple more to his ledger. His unreliable hands coupled with a modest target share as the No. 3 wideout behind Davante Adams and Garrett Wilson limit Lazard's fantasy appeal ahead of a Week 17 trip to Buffalo.

Allen Lazard Latest News
Two catches in Week 16

Lazard caught two of five targets for 20 yards in Sunday's 19-9 loss to the Rams. Lazard's ongoing issues with drops resurfaced in this game, as he added a couple more to his ledger. His unreliable hands coupled with a modest target share as the No. 3 wideout behind Davante Adams and Garrett Wilson limit Lazard's fantasy appeal ahead of a Week 17 trip to Buffalo.
No catches on four targets

Lazard didn't catch any of his four targets in Sunday's 32-25 win over the Jaguars. Lazard has displayed butter fingers throughout his tenure with the Jets, and he had an especially costly drop Sunday on a dime from Aaron Rodgers that should have been a 30-yard touchdown. Anders Carlson missed a field-goal attempt on the very next play, though Lazard's struggles ultimately didn't prevent the Jets from notching their fourth win of the season. For the second consecutive game since Lazard returned from IR, Davante Adams and Garrett Wilson combined for double-digit catches and well over 200 yards, leaving limited opportunities for the team's No. 3 wideout.
One catch in return from IR

Lazard (chest) caught his only target for 18 yards in Sunday's 32-26 overtime loss to the Dolphins. Seeing his first action since Week 7, Lazard played 78 percent of snaps on offense, so his lack of production wasn't due to a lack of playing time. He's a distant third on the Jets' wide receiver depth chart behind Garrett Wilson and Davante Adams, who combined for 223 yards and a touchdown on 21 targets against the Dolphins. Lazard will be a touchdown-dependent Week 15 fantasy option against a Jaguars defense that's giving up 26.5 points per game.
Officially available Sunday

Lazard (chest) was activated off injured reserve Saturday. Lazard is officially cleared to return after missing the past five games due to a chest injury. The 28-year-old might struggle to see opportunities as the No. 3 target behind Garrett Wilson and Davante Adams especially given the Jets' struggles passing the ball in recent weeks.
Returning from IR

Lazard (chest) will be activated from injured reserve ahead of Sunday's game against the Dolphins, Brian Costello of the New York Post reports. Lazard has been practicing without limitations and is presumably healthy enough to suit up for Sunday's game against the Dolphins, though the Jets will still need to perform an official transaction to put him back on the 53-man roster. Prior to getting hurt, Lazard had 412 receiving yards and five touchdowns through seven games. All but one of those games came prior to the Jets trading for Davante Adams, and Lazard likely won't see as many targets while slotting in as the No. 3 wide receiver behind Adams and Garrett Wilson.
Practices fully Wednesday

Lazard (chest) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports. Lazard was officially designated for return from injured reserve Wednesday, and he looks to have a decent shot of suiting up for the Jets' Week 14 date against the Dolphins on Sunday. Xavier Gipson and rookie Malachi Corley have been handling third and fourth receiver duties behind target-commanders Garrett Wilson and Davante Adams. Lazard will be fighting for scraps behind those two once he does return to the field.
Returning to practice

The Jets are in line to open the practice window of Lazard (chest), Eric Allen of the team's official site reports. The Jets will have 21 days to decide whether to activate Lazard (who has been on IR since Oct. 31) to their 53-man roster. For his part, interim head coach Jeff Ulbrich noted Wednesday that he's hopeful the wideout will be ready by the end of the week. If Lazard is available for Sunday's game against the Dolphins, he'd add depth to a WR corps that's led by Garrett Wilson and Davante Adams, a context that could limit the veteran pass-catcher's initial volume in New York's offense.
Officially placed on IR

The Jets have placed Lazard (chest) on IR, Ethan Greenberg of the team's official site reports. As a result, the soonest Lazard can return to action is Sunday, Dec. 8 against the Dolphins. While Lazard is sidelined, Garrett Wilson, Davante Adams and Mike Williams will continue to lead the Jets' wideout corps, with Xavier Gipson, Irvin Charles and Malachi Corley in reserve.
Reportedly headed to IR

The Jets are slated to place Lazard (chest) on IR, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. Once the anticipated move is official, Lazard will be in line to miss at least four games, with his earliest possible return date being Sunday, Dec. 8 against the Dolphins. In Lazard's looming absence, Garrett Wilson, Davante Adams and Mike Williams will continue to lead the Jets' wideout corps. Prior to sustaining his injury, Lazard caught 30 of his 44 targets for 412 yards and five TDs in seven games.
