In a corresponding move, they placed safety George Odum on their injured reserve list. Beal was originally placed on the injured reserve list prior to Week 1, but it seems like he could finally be on track to make his NFL debut in Week 13 at Philadelphia.
There is now a 21-day window in which the 49ers can officially activate Beal; otherwise they'd have to shut him down for the rest of the campaign. San Francisco's injury reports this week will shed more light on whether he'll be able to suit up for his first regular-season game in Week 10.
