Rush completed 26 of 35 passes for 292 yards, one touchdown and no interceptions in Sunday's 26-24 win over Tampa Bay. Rush delivered arguably his best showing of the season to lead Dallas to an upset win in primetime. He completed five passes of more than 20 yards, including 52- and 34-yard deep completions to CeeDee Lamb, to average 8.3 yards per attempt. Rush also avoided mistakes, as he didn't turn the ball over and was sacked just once. The only disappointing aspect of the showing was that he found the end zone only one time, on a 10-yard connection with Jalen Tolbert late in the first quarter.

Cooper Rush Latest News
Leads Cowboys to upset win

Three TDs in win

Rush completed 18 of 29 passes for 214 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions in Sunday's 30-14 win over the Panthers. He added four rushes for five yards. Rush took some time to get the Cowboys' offense moving, but that changed on a drive early in the second quarter during which he went 5-for-5 with 70 yards and a 14-yard touchdown pass to CeeDee Lamb. He went on to tally two additional passing scores to Jalen Tolbert and Jalen Brooks to record the first three-touchdown game of his career and complete the blowout victory over Carolina. While it was a favorable matchup, Rush also averaged 7.4 yards per attempt -- his second-highest mark of the season -- to give him some momentum heading into another exploitable matchup in Week 16 against Tampa Bay.
Tosses two TDs in loss

Rush completed 16 of 31 passes for 183 yards with two touchdowns and one interception and rushed twice for five yards in the Cowboys' 27-20 loss to the Bengals on Monday night. Rush had a harder time than might have been envisioned against a Bengals defense that did a solid job in coverage for the most part and also compiled three sacks in addition to a second-quarter interception at Cincinnati's four-yard line. The veteran backup did start off his night in positive fashion with an 11-yard touchdown toss to CeeDee Lamb on fourth down in the first quarter, and he added a three-yard scoring pass to Brandin Cooks early in the third quarter. Rush also took a sack and threw high to Jake Ferguson on the Cowboys' final drive in the fourth quarter, turning the ball over on downs as a result of the latter play. Rush will aim to get back on track in a favorable Week 15 road matchup against the Panthers.
Limits mistakes on Thanksgiving

Rush completed 21 of 36 passes for 195 yards, one touchdown and zero interceptions in Thursday's 27-20 win over the Giants. He added five rushes for zero yards. Rush wasn't asked to do much, as the Cowboys cashed in a pick-six and also scored on a short field to begin the third quarter. As a result, Rush didn't have to be aggressive in pushing the ball down the field, but he didn't turn the ball over and didn't take a sack to keep the Cowboys' offense on schedule. His 5.4 yards per attempt weren't inspiring, but he did throw for at least one touchdown for the third time in his four starts this season. Rush will likely have to be more aggressive in a Week 14 matchup against Cincinnati, which could lead to a better stat line.
Set to play Thursday

Rush (knee) doesn't have a designation for Thursday's game versus the Giants, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports. Rush was estimated as limited Monday and Tuesday due to a knee injury, but his ability to handle a full session Wednesday has paved the way for him to continue to lead the Cowboys offense Week 13. While he won't have TE Jake Ferguson (concussion) for a second consecutive contest Thursday, Rush will have top WRs CeeDee Lamb (back/foot) and Brandin Cooks (knee) -- the latter of whom was activated from injured reserve Wednesday -- available to him.
Remains limited Tuesday

Rush (knee) remained limited in Tuesday's practice, Jane Slater of NFL Network reports. Rush is dealing with some knee soreness, but expectations are he will be able to play Thursday against the Giants. Rush is coming off a solid Week 12 performance against the Commanders, when he completed 24 of 32 passes for 247 yards and two touchdowns. He gets another softer matchup against a Giants defense that is 19th in fantasy points allowed to quarterbacks and has only intercepted one pass all season.
Estimated as limited Monday

Rush (knee) was listed as limited on Monday's practice estimate, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports. Monday's session was merely a walkthrough, per Archer, but Rush's listed limitations make his status worth tracking ahead of Thursday's 4:30 p.m. ET game against the Giants. For his part, head coach Mike McCarthy downplayed the QB's knee issue following Week 12 action. "He's got some work to do, but I think we're gonna be fine," McCarthy noted of Rush on Monday. However, in the event that Rush encounters any setbacks, Trey Lance would be next in line to log the Cowboys' Thanksgiving Day start.
Produces solid numbers in win

Rush completed 24 of 32 passes for 247 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions and netted one yard on four rushes in the Cowboys' 34-26 win over the Commanders on Sunday. He also fumbled once but recovered. Rush was able to put together a successful, turnover-free encore to his season-high 354-yard tally on Monday night against the Texans, posting his first multi-TD tally in the process. The veteran backup connected for both of his scoring tosses in the second half, hitting Jalen Tolbert (six yards) and Luke Schoonmaker (22 yards) with end-zone strikes in the third and fourth quarters, respectively. Rush may be settling into a rhythm now that he's gotten a few games under his belt, and he'll head into a Week 13 Thanksgiving Day matchup against the Giants with momentum on his side.
Remains starter

Head coach Mike McCarthy confirmed that Rush will remain the Cowboys' starting quarterback for Sunday's game against the Commanders, Calvin Watkins of The Dallas Morning News reports. Rush will make his third consecutive start in Week 12, even though the Cowboys have been outscored 68-16 in losses to the Eagles and Texans over the past two games. With Dallas trailing by at least two scores for much of Monday's game against Houston, Rush dropped back 60 times on the night, taking five sacks while completing 32 of 55 pass attempts for a touchdown and a career-high 354 yards. Though Rush's 6.4 yards per attempt were a stark improvement from his 2.0 average against the Eagles, he still threw a costly first-quarter interception in Houston territory and also fumbled twice, one of which was returned for a Texans TD. Rush may be on a shorter leash in Week 12, with McCarthy acknowledging that he'll also have a package of plays available for backup quarterback Trey Lance, who offers more of a threat as a runner.
