Hits game-winning shot Thursday

Herro registered 20 points (8-17 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 1-1 FT), ;three rebounds, two assists and one steal across 32 minutes during Thursday's 89-88 win over the Magic. Herro paced Miami on Thursday with a team-high 20 points, which was second-most in the game behind Orlando's Jalen Suggs (29). Herro helped propel the Heat's 17-point comeback and provided the exclamation point when he hit an 18-foot jumpshot with just 0.5 seconds left to play. Since and including Dec. 1, Herro has averaged 24.1 points on 47.9 percent shooting (including 39.3 percent from three on 9.7 3PA/G), 6.3 rebounds and 4.6 assists across 35.1 minutes per game.
Nearly records second triple-double

Herro registered 17 points (5-13 FG, 2-7 3Pt, 5-6 FT), 12 rebounds, nine assists and one block over 39 minutes during Monday's 110-95 victory over the Nets. Herro was one assist shy from registering the second triple-double of his NBA career, with his first taking place during the 2022-23 regular season. Herro wasn't the most efficient from the field Monday, and while his streak of 20-plus points in a game stopped at five games, his nine assists were his second-most of the season. Since and including Dec. 1, Herro has averaged 24.5 points on 48.0 percent shooting, 6.6 rebounds and 4.9 assists across 35.4 minutes per game.
Keeps impressive run alive

Herro contributed 22 points (7-17 FG, 3-9 3Pt, 5-7 FT), six rebounds and five assists in 38 minutes during Saturday's 121-114 loss to the Magic. Herro didn't have the most efficient performance from a shooting perspective, but the six-year guard continues to play a pivotal role on offense for Miami. Enjoying an uptick in his usage rate with Jimmy Butler (illness) sidelined, Herro scored at least 20 points for the fifth game in a row. He's also achieved this feat nine times over his previous 11 appearances amid what has been a career-best season for the former Kentucky standout.
Posts double-double

Herro racked up 28 points (11-24 FG, 3-10 3Pt, 3-5 FT), 12 rebounds, five assists and three steals in 36 minutes during Friday's 104-97 loss to the Thunder. The Heat had to spend most of the game without Jimmy Butler (illness) and Bam Adebayo also missed time during the second half due to a cut above his left eye, meaning Herro was forced to carry the team offensively over prolonged stretches. The star guard, who's having a career-best season in 2024-25, delivered and stepped up, though. This was Herro's fourth straight game with at least 20 points, and he's reached that mark in 17 of his 25 appearances this season.
Struggles from deep

Herro finished Monday's 125-124 overtime loss to the Pistons with 23 points (9-25 FG, 4-17 3Pt, 1-1 FT), four rebounds, one assist and one steal in 41 minutes. Herro had one of his worst shooting games of the season Monday while also recording his fewest assists since Nov. 2. Still, the 24-year-old guard is converting 41.3 percent of his 10.1 three-point attempts per contest this season and is averaging 4.8 assists.
Another 20-point performance

Herro ended Thursday's 114-104 victory over the Raptors with 23 points (9-13 FG, 4-7 3Pt, 1-1 FT), four rebounds and four assists over 32 minutes. Herro was named the Eastern Conference Player of the Week for the games between Dec. 2 and Dec. 8, and it seems he's picking things up right where he left them. He's scored at least 20 points in six of his previous eight appearances and has reached the 30-point plateau three times in that span. Herro is having a career-best season and is averaging a robust 24.2 points per game in 2024-25.
Catches fire in third quarter

Herro chipped in 34 points (10-19 FG, 5-9 3Pt, 9-9 FT), six rebounds and seven assists over 36 minutes during Sunday's 122-113 win over the Cavaliers. Herro caught fire in the third quarter Sunday, scoring 19 of his game-high 34 points during this period to help power the Heat past Cleveland. The star guard has been the top scoring option in Miami's offense throughout the first quarter of the season, and over his last 11 outings, he's averaging 24.0 points, 5.7 rebounds, 4.8 assists, 0.9 steals and 4.0 three-pointers in 36.0 minutes per game. Herro's impact may not be as pronounced in the defensive categories, but he should remain a stable source of points, threes and assists going forward while handling the ball even more in the first unit with Terry Rozier still riding with the second unit.
Inefficient 19 points Monday

Herro produced 19 points (6-19 FG, 2-10 3Pt, 5-6 FT), five rebounds and four assists over 35 minutes during Monday's 108-89 loss to Boston. Herro served as one of Miami's top scoring options in the absence of star swingman Jimmy Butler (knee), tying with teammate Jaime Jaquez Jr. for a team-high 19 points, but his showing also required 19 field-goal attempts to attain. The 24-year-old star combo guard has now scored at least 18 points in each of his last 14 appearances for the Heat, however, averaging 24.8 points, 5.3 rebounds, 5.1 assists, 0.8 steals and 4.2 three-pointers in 37.0 minutes per game during this period. If Butler remains out of action for Wednesday's contest against the Lakers, Herro will figure to handle the heavy lifting on offense with an increase in ball-handling and playmaking responsibilities once again.
Misses key three in loss

Herro ended with 31 points (9-16 FG, 6-12 3Pt, 7-7 FT), four rebounds, three assists and two steals in 37 minutes during Sunday's 119-116 loss to Toronto. While Herro's three-pointer to tie the game came up short, his superb line was a fantasy bonanza with solid results in every major category. Herro's six drilled threes were impressive, and his upside definitely resides beyond the arc, where he attempts almost 10 shots per game at a conversion rate of 41.9 percent.
