Las Vegas placed Crosby (ankle) on its injured reserve list Wednesday. This was a foregone conclusion, as Crosby underwent a tightrope procedure Tuesday to address an ankle injury he aggravated in Week 14. He's expected to be ready for the start of the 2025 season, but for the rest of this year, 2023 first-rounder Tyree Wilson figures to step in as the starter on the edge across from K'Lavon Chaisson.

Officially goes to IR

Las Vegas placed Crosby (ankle) on its injured reserve list Wednesday. This was a foregone conclusion, as Crosby underwent a tightrope procedure Tuesday to address an ankle injury he aggravated in Week 14. He's expected to be ready for the start of the 2025 season, but for the rest of this year, 2023 first-rounder Tyree Wilson figures to step in as the starter on the edge across from K'Lavon Chaisson.
Undergoing tightrope surgery

Crosby (ankle) is scheduled to undergo a tightrope procedure Tuesday to address the Grade 3 sprain he had aggravated Week 14, Tashan Reed of The Athletic reports. Crosby initially injured his ankle back in Week 2, but the issue worsened in Week 14 to the point of him requiring season-ending surgery. Reed reports that Crosby's recovery timetable could play out in a number of ways, but that the standout pass rusher is expected to be fully healthy to begin the 2025 campaign. Crosby's 2024 season thus concludes with 12 appearances, in which he racked up 45 tackles (28 solo), 7.5 sacks and five passes defensed.
Likely done for campaign

Crosby (ankle) is expected to undergo season-ending arthroscopic ankle surgery, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. Crosby has been battling an ankle injury since Week 2, and the issue caused him to miss the first game of his career Week 4 against Cleveland. The three-time Pro Bowler has since been on the field for nearly every one of Las Vegas' defensive snaps, but he hasn't been able to overcome the issue and was ruled out for Monday's Week 15 contest against Atlanta earlier Saturday. It appears the decision has been made for Crosby to cut his campaign short and undergo surgery with an aim toward being ready to suit up for the start of next season. If his 2024 campaign is indeed over, the star defensive end will finish with 45 tackles (28 solo), including 7.5 sacks, and five defensed passes over 12 games.
Sits out of practice Thursday

Crosby (ankle) did not participate in practice Thursday. The two-time All-Pro defensive end dealt with an ankle issue earlier in the year that forced him to miss a game, in Week 4, for the first time in his career. It's unclear if this is the same issue. The Raiders have two more practice sessions for Crosby to get back on the field ahead of Monday's matchup with the Falcons.
Notches sack in loss Friday

Crosby recorded four tackles (three solo), including 1.0 sacks, in Friday's 19-17 Week 13 loss to Kansas City. Crosby added three quarterback hits in addition to his sack as he was able to get to Patrick Mahomes throughout the closely contested game. The sack was Crosby's first since Week 7, ending a four-game sackless span. He's up to 7.5 sacks on the season as he seeks his third straight double-digit sack camaign.
Makes five tackles in loss

Crosby registered five tackles (three solo) in Sunday's 34-19 loss to the Dolphins. Crosby now has been held without a sack for three consecutive contests, and he remains without a single forced turnover through his first nine games of the 2024 season. He'll look to pressure rookie quarterback Bo Nix when Las Vegas next hosts the Broncos in Week 12.
Three tackles in loss

Crosby recorded three tackles (one solo) in Sunday's 41-24 loss to the Bengals. Crosby also was credited with one pass defensed, but he's now gone two consecutive games without a sack ahead of the Raiders' Week 10 bye. Nonetheless, he's played 100 percent of the team's defensive snaps in three straight contests.
Cleared to suit up Sunday

Crosby (ankle) does not have an injury designation for the Raiders' Week 8 contest versus Kansas City on Sunday, Paul Gutierrez of ESPN.com reports. Crosby has been dealing with an ankle injury for over a month and missed the first game of his career Week 4 against Cleveland. He did not practice Thursday of this week but was a full participant both Wednesday and Friday, enabling him to suit up against Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs on Sunday. Through six contests this season, Crosby has logged 6.5 sacks, tied for sixth-most in the NFL.
DNP on Thursday

Crosby (ankle) did not participate in practice Thursday. Crosby's DNP on Thursday is likely a rest day after the 2019 fourth-round pick was able to practice in full Wednesday. Friday's injury report will provide clarity on his status heading into Sunday's game against the Chiefs.
