Charbonnet is slated to serve as Seattle's lead back for the final two games of the regular season after Kenneth Walker was placed on injured reserve Thursday, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports. Walker had already been ruled out in advance of Thursday's game in Chicago, but his move to IR sets up Charbonnet for two starts to close out the season, and potentially at least two more in the playoffs if the Seahawks are able to punch their ticket to the postseason by beating out the Rams for the NFC West title. Charbonnet projects as a strong option in fantasy lineups in Week 17, given the heavy volume the Seahawks have given him in the other four games Walker has missed this season. In those four contests, Charbonnet has scored six touchdowns and has averaged 19.5 touches for 108.8 scrimmage yards.
The Seahawks placed Walker (ankle) on injured reserve Thursday, John Boyle of the team's official site reports. Walker already was ruled out for Thursday's game at Chicago due to an ankle injury that he sustained in the second half of this past Sunday's loss to the Vikings, but he'll now be out Week 18 and for any playoff matchups that Seattle would have before the NFC Championship Game, assuming the team qualifies and makes it that far. In the meantime, Zach Charbonnet will pace the Seahawks backfield while Kenny McIntosh backs him up.
The Seahawks signed Holani from the practice squad to the active roster Thursday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports. Holani had been elevated from Seattle's practice squad to the active roster for the three-game maximum, and over that span he turned three carries into 10 yards while adding one catch for minus-1 yard. Now that he's on the 53-man roster, Holani will serve as the Seahawks' No. 3 running back behind Zach Charbonnet and Kenny McIntosh due to Kenneth Walker (ankle) being ruled out for Thursday night's game against the Bears.
Wallace (ankle) won't play in Seattle's matchup versus the Bears on Thursday, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports. Wallace will now miss his second straight game since he was designated to return from injured reserve on Dec. 11 His next chance to play will be the team's regular-season finale matchup versus the Rams Week 18.
Russell (foot) has been ruled out for Seattle's matchup versus the Bears on Thursday, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports. Russell will miss his third straight game and fifth total of the season as he continues to battle a foot injury. The Seahawks will continue to rely on Noah Fant, Pharaoh Brown and AJ Barner as their top options at tight end.
Charbonnet (elbow) doesn't carry a designation and is expected to start Thursday at Chicago with Kenneth Walker (ankle) ruled out for that contest, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports. Walker thus will be inactive for a third time in four games, affording Charbonnet his third nod during that stretch. When Walker was sidelined Weeks 14 and 15 due to a calf injury, Charbonnet paced the Seahawks backfield to the tune of 38 touches for 259 yards from scrimmage and three rushing TDs. Reserve RB Kenny McIntosh also got in the act during those two games, tallying 54 total yards on 12 touches.
Walker (ankle) has been ruled out for Thursday's game at Chicago, Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times reports. Walker returned from a two-game absence due to a calf injury this past Sunday against the Vikings, but he suffered an ankle issue in the second half and finished Week 16 with 16 touches for 59 yards from scrimmage. Now that the Seahawks have made a decision on his availability for Week 17 action, Walker again will hand off the Seahawks backfield to Zach Charbonnet, who reeled off 259 total yards and three rushing touchdowns on 38 touches when Walker was out Weeks 14 and 15.
