Al-Shaair has now sat out the required three games and is eligible to suit up Sunday, Jan. 5 against Tennessee in Houston's regular-season finale. Schultz had two receptions on six targets for 21 yards in Wednesday's 31-2 loss to the Ravens. Schultz was coming off his best fantasy performance of the season in Week 16 (5-45-1), but he followed that up with his worst catch rate of the season on six targets. The veteran tight end has experienced a downward trend in production in his second year with Houston, carrying a mediocre 50-503-2 receiving line while starting all 16 of the Texans' games in 2024. Schultz will look to finish the regular season on a high note when the Texans visit the Titans next Sunday.
Metchie (shoulder) had five receptions on eight targets for 48 yards in Wednesday's 31-2 loss to Baltimore. Metchie returned from a one-game layoff to find himself in an elevated role in the passing game sans starter Tank Dell (knee). The 24-year-old Metchie led the Texans in targets Wednesday while setting a new personal high through 12 active games this season. Metchie's increased usage should put him on the map in deeper formats in Houston's regular-season finale against the Titans next Sunday.
Collins finished with three receptions on six targets for 59 yards in Wednesday's 31-2 loss to Baltimore. Collins finished as the Texans' leading receiver in a contest that featured no points scored for the offense. The star wideout was a rare bright spot for Houston despite his modest totals, recording his team's longest play from scrimmage (30 yards) in the blowout loss. Collins and the Texans' offense will look to get right in a soft matchup against the Titans next Sunday before preparing for the playoffs.
Mixon took nine carries for 26 yards and brought in two of three targets for 13 yards in Wednesday's 31-2 loss to Baltimore. Mixon's late-season struggles continued with another mediocre rushing line that featured no trips to the end zone. The former Bengal is averaging a meager 35.3 rushing yards in three games since the Texans' Week 14 bye. The 27-year-old currently sits just seven yards shy of recording the fifth 1,000-yard rushing season of his career. Mixon should easily accomplish that feat in a favorable matchup against Tennessee in Week 18.
Stroud completed 17 of 31 pass attempts for 185 yards, no touchdowns and one interception while adding seven rushing yards on his only attempt in Wednesday's 31-2 loss to the Ravens. Stroud never looked settled in the pocket against Baltimore, missing a handful of short passes to open receivers that doomed several offensive drives. The slumping sophomore was forced to miss one play at the end of the first half after losing feeling in his throwing arm following a sack. Stroud promptly returned to action on the ensuing play, but he still couldn't figure out any answers to the Ravens' swarming defense in the second half. The Texans already locked up first place in a struggling AFC South division in 2024, but Stroud and this offense figure to see action in Week 18 against the Titans following Wednesday's horrid display.
Johnson (coach's decision) is inactive for Wednesday's game against the Ravens. Houston claimed Johnson off waivers from Baltimore on Monday, but given the quick turnaround for the Christmas Day matchup with his former Ravens squad, the wideout won't be asked to make his Texans debut with limited time to familiarize himself with a new playbook. Instead, Johnson will turn his focus toward debuting for Houston in Week 18 versus the Titans. On Wednesday, Nico Collins, John Metchie, Robert Woods, Xavier Hutchinson and Jared Wayne will represent Houston's available options at wide receiver.
Autry (knee) is active for Wednesday's game against Baltimore. Autry was a limited practice participant all week due to a knee injury, but he has been cleared to play Christmas Day and will provide depth for the Texans' defensive line. Over his last seven games, Autry has tallied 13 tackles (eight solo), including 3.0 sacks, and two pass defenses.
